The range of small caliber ammunition low in harmful substances with NATO qualification for security forces is unique. RWS GmbH draws on its expertise in the ammunition sector and for primer technology to develop technical applications such as propellant cartridges for fastening technology and safety systems in the field of industrial pyrotechnics.
Our beginnings
The origins of our company go back to the year 1855. At the time, Heinrich Utendoerffer began manufacturing primer charges in his laboratory in Nuremberg. Three decades later, his laboratory was taken over by the "Rheinisch Westfälische Sprengstoff-Actien-Gesellschaft", which was founded in 1886, thus explaining the origin of the acronym RWS. To this day, RWS stands for a wide range of consistently reliable precision products and product solutions of the highest quality that have established themselves worldwide.
